Federal Employees to See 100% Increase in House Rent Allowance

Islamabad: Good news for federal employees as the Ministry of Housing and Construction has prepared a plan to increase the monthly rental ceiling for government employees.
According to details, a 100% increase in the rental ceiling is proposed for employees in grades one to ten. For those in grades eleven to sixteen, a 75% increase is suggested, while a 50% increase is recommended for officers in grades seventeen to twenty-two.
Sources indicate that the proposed monthly rental ceiling for employees in grades one and two based in Islamabad is set at PKR 14,058, while for those in other cities, it is proposed at PKR 13,182. For employees in grades three to six, the ceiling for Islamabad is suggested at PKR 21,960, with PKR 19,308 for other cities.
The formula has been sent to the Finance Division for approval, but final approval will be granted by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
