Heatwave Grips Balochistan as Nok Kundi Hits 47°C, Rain Expected in Khuzdar

Quetta: A severe heatwave continues to affect much of Balochistan, with temperatures soaring across the province. According to the Meteorological Department, hot and dry weather is expected to persist in most districts, while central areas are likely to continue experiencing intense heat.
The weather department said that southern districts are expected to remain partly cloudy, with the possibility of strong winds, thunderstorms, and rain in Khuzdar and its surrounding areas.
Official weather data showed that Nok Kundi recorded the highest maximum temperature at 47°C, followed by Sibi at 46°C. Quetta and Chaman recorded maximum temperatures of 41°C, while Turbat and Zhob reached 39°C. Kalat recorded 36°C, and Ziarat, usually one of the province’s coldest areas, registered a high of 30°C.
Temperatures remained comparatively moderate in Balochistan’s coastal belt, with Gwadar recording a maximum temperature of 32°C and Jiwani 33°C.
The Meteorological Department has advised residents to take necessary precautions against extreme heat and stay updated on weather conditions, particularly in areas where thunderstorms are forecast.
