Aleema Khan Criticizes Former CJP Faez Isa, Demands Restoration of Imran Khan’s Prison Rights

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, the sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has strongly criticized former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, alleging that he has failed to realize that he “betrayed his office and the country.”

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Aleema Khan said she had watched an interview of the former chief justice and claimed that he still did not understand the consequences of his actions during his tenure.

Referring to Imran Khan’s message from prison, she said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder had called for protests against the 26th Constitutional Amendment, describing it as an injustice to the country.

Aleema Khan also alleged that despite court orders allowing up to 18 people to meet Imran Khan each week, authorities were not permitting the meetings. She said the family was being forced to appeal to judges simply to secure visitation rights and stressed that the focus should be on restoring all of Imran Khan’s legal and constitutional rights.

She further claimed that the government intended to allow only one of Imran Khan’s sisters to meet him so that he could later be kept in solitary confinement for another six months. According to her, authorities might also send an individual with the family during the meeting and later use any discussion outside the prison as a pretext to impose further restrictions on the former prime minister.

Aleema Khan demanded the full restoration of Imran Khan’s prison rights, including regular access to books and meetings with his family and children.
