Pakistan Will Go to Any Extent to Defend Saudi Arabia: DG ISPR
RAWALPINDI:Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said Pakistan will go “to any extent” to defend Saudi Arabia against any aggression, reaffirming Islamabad’s unconditional commitment to the Kingdom’s security.
In an interview with *Arab News*, the military spokesperson said Pakistan stood fully with Saudi Arabia and was committed to protecting the Kingdom and Islam’s two holiest sites in Makkah and Madinah.
“There should be no doubt on that. We are there and we will continue to defend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any aggression,” Lt Gen Chaudhry said.
He described Pakistan’s commitment to Saudi security as **unconditional**, saying it stemmed from what he called a deep-rooted and historic relationship between the peoples, political leaderships and armed forces of the two countries.
The DG ISPR also discussed the **Makkah Joint Defence Agreement** between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, saying the operational details of defence commitments would not be disclosed publicly.
He said that if any one of the three countries came under attack, the three governments would jointly determine the appropriate response and implement it accordingly. Military and security-related operational information, he added, remained confidential.
Lt Gen Chaudhry has previously described the Makkah agreement as defensive in nature, with no offensive or regional aspirations, and aimed at collective deterrence and regional stability.
His latest remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and recent missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia. The statements also follow Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement with regional countries aimed at containing the wider crisis.
