Asad Qaiser Calls for People’s Mandate and Improved Security in Balochistan

Former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has called for the protection of democratic rights and improved security in Balochistan, saying the province deserves governance based on the people’s mandate.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Qaiser said he had brought a message of solidarity from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the people of Balochistan. He praised the sacrifices made by the province’s residents and said PTI’s position on the situation in Balochistan was clear.
He argued that Balochistan should receive its constitutional rights and claimed that governments formed in the province have not reflected the will of the people. According to Qaiser, many representatives in the provincial assembly do not have genuine public support, adding that denying citizens their basic democratic rights contributes to instability.
The former speaker also expressed concern over the law and order situation, claiming that government authority has weakened in parts of Balochistan and that major highways have become unsafe. He said incidents of violence against travelers and growing insecurity are discouraging investment and economic activity in the province.
Qaiser further stated that the closure of trade border crossings has increased unemployment and pushed many young people toward frustration. He demanded the immediate reopening of border crossings and called for the effective implementation of the National Action Plan to address security challenges.
Referring to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Qaiser alleged that efforts were being made to secure additional convictions against him and urged people to stand up for justice.
He also criticized recent legislation passed by the National Assembly, claiming that it had failed to address the needs and interests of the general public.
The remarks reflect the views and allegations made by Asad Qaiser during the press conference and have not been independently verified.
