Roadside Bomb Targets Police Convoy in Kalat; Three Injured in Separate Explosion in Khanozai

Quetta: A roadside bomb exploded near a police convoy in Kalat on Saturday, while three people were seriously injured in a separate explosion involving explosive material in Khanozai, officials said.
According to police sources, the improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near Rodenjo as a convoy comprising three police vehicles—one Quick Response Force (QRF) vehicle and two Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) vehicles—was traveling from Kalat to Bincha for squad duty.
Despite the explosion, all three vehicles and the police personnel remained unharmed. Following the incident, one ATF vehicle returned to Kalat, while the remaining QRF and ATF vehicles continued toward their destination. Security forces later launched a search operation in the area, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
In a separate incident near Pinki in Khanozai, three men were seriously injured when explosive material being carried on their motorcycle detonated unexpectedly while they were on their way to a mining site.
The injured were identified as Zahoor, son of Abdul Faiz; Faisal, son of Talib; and Muhammad Afzal, son of Talib, all residents of Pinki from the Barkazai tribe.
According to police, Zahoor and Muhammad Afzal lost their legs in the blast, while Faisal sustained severe burn injuries. After receiving initial medical treatment, all three were referred to Quetta for specialized care.
Police have reached the scene, secured the area, and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
