Balochistan CM Orders Special Investigation into Hashim Noorzai Murder
Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has taken notice of the killing of Muhammad Hashim Noorzai, owner of Kabul Jan Restaurant, and ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
According to Chief Minister’s spokesman Shahid Rind, the chief minister has sought a detailed report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and directed that the case be handed over to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).
Rind said an officer of Superintendent of Police (SP) rank from the SIU will lead the investigation team to ensure a transparent, impartial, and effective inquiry into the murder.
The chief minister also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and assured them that those responsible for the killing would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
Shahid Rind further stated that Member of the Provincial Assembly Malik Naeem Bazai and the Deputy Commissioner Quetta are present with the protesting family members and that the provincial government is maintaining continuous contact with them.
Describing the incident as deeply tragic, the spokesman said the chief minister has directed law enforcement agencies to arrest the suspects at the earliest and ensure they are prosecuted under the law.
