Alleged Assault Case in Lahore College: Family Denies Incident

Islamabad:In a recent development regarding the alleged assault of a student at a private college in Gulberg, Lahore, the family of the student has issued a video statement denying that any such incident occurred. The father and uncle expressed their surprise upon seeing protest videos circulating on social media.

Accompanied by ASP Defense Sheher Bano Naqvi, the uncle stated, “Protests are being held in our daughter’s name. She simply had an accident at home and sustained a back injury. She is currently receiving treatment in the ICU.” He emphasized that they had provided the medical reports to the police and were astonished to witness the public outcry based on misinformation.

ASP Naqvi urged the public not to act on false reports, stating that if such an incident were to occur, the police would certainly register a case.

The incident initially sparked outrage on social media, claiming that a security guard at the college had assaulted the student and then fled. Following the allegations, police detained the security guard for questioning. However, the guard has denied any wrongdoing, and investigators have found no evidence to support the claims of assault.

In response to the viral misinformation, students staged protests, turning Lahore’s Gulberg Main Boulevard and Canal Road into a battleground. They temporarily halted their demonstrations but have announced plans to resume protests on Tuesday.

The police have summoned the student’s father and uncle, who recorded their video statement while wearing masks in front of ASP Naqvi. The situation continues to unfold as authorities address the implications of the false allegations.
