Karachi Court Orders Arrest of Investigating Officer, Eight Others in Alleged False Assault Case

Karachi: A Judicial Magistrate South at the City Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for an investigating officer and eight other individuals during the hearing of a complaint challenging an allegedly false assault case.

The court directed the Station House Officer (SHO) of Boat Basin Police Station to arrest and produce the accused before the court. Those named in the order include investigating officer Naeem Ahmed, Naseem Muhammad Khan, Shehbaz, Rizwan, former spouse Alia, Aani, Sarwat, Nuzhat, and Farhat.

During the proceedings, counsel for the complainant, Advocate Samraz, argued that his client, Zeeshan, had been falsely implicated in a criminal case. He maintained that the accused had allegedly entered his client’s residence and assaulted him, but despite the existence of CCTV footage, police registered a case against the victim instead.

The lawyer further informed the court that investigating officer Naeem Ahmed had repeatedly failed to appear despite multiple summonses. He also alleged that court orders directing the suspension of the officer’s salary had not been implemented.

According to the complainant’s counsel, the case against his client was registered to exert pressure on him and force a settlement on terms favorable to the opposing party.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for all the accused, including the investigating officer, and adjourned further proceedings until July 2.
