Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Arrives in Switzerland for Iran-US Talks

BERN/BRGENSTOCK:Prime Minister **Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif** has arrived in Switzerland along with a high-level delegation to participate in the Iran-US negotiations.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, technical-level talks will be held today in Brgenstock, Switzerland, as a continuation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed between the parties.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces **Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir** are expected to participate in the negotiations. The prime minister traveled to Switzerland specifically for the talks and has now reached Brgenstock with the high-level delegation.

A Foreign Office spokesperson said that on the sidelines of the negotiations, the prime minister will also hold bilateral meetings with participating delegations. These meetings are expected to help ensure the effective implementation of the Iran-US Memorandum of Understanding.

The spokesperson added that Pakistan would continue to support the implementation of the understanding between Iran and the United States and would maintain its constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, US representatives **Steve Witkoff** and **Jared Kushner** are already present in Switzerland, while US Vice President **J.D. Vance** has also arrived to attend the negotiations.

On the other hand, the Iranian delegation, led by Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator **Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf**, has also reached Switzerland. According to Iranian media, the delegation includes Foreign Minister **Abbas Araghchi**, National Security Council official **Ali Bagheri**, Central Bank Governor **Abdolnaser Hemmati**, **Kazem Gharibabadi**, and Foreign Ministry spokesman **Esmaeil Baghaei**.
