PM Shehbaz Sharif May Travel to Zurich Tonight for Next Round of US-Iran Talks

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif may depart for Zurich tonight to participate in the next round of negotiations between the United States and Iran, according to sources.
The next phase of US-Iran talks is scheduled to take place in Zurich on Sunday. The Iranian delegation will reportedly be led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The United States delegation is expected to be headed by Vice President JD Vance, while Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are also expected to be part of the delegation. Sources said that two members of the American team are already present in Zurich.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, the technical-level discussions will focus on implementation mechanisms related to the Memorandum of Understanding reached between the parties. Representatives from Qatar will also participate in the talks as part of the mediation process.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that the Iranian delegation will urge the United States to help halt Israeli military actions in Lebanon during the negotiations.
The talks are being closely watched as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at advancing dialogue and reducing tensions in the region.
