Government Announces Massive Cut in Petrol and Diesel Prices

ISLAMABAD: In a major relief measure for the public, the Prime Minister has announced a significant reduction in petroleum product prices. According to the new decision, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs74 per litre, while diesel prices have been cut by Rs67 per litre.

Following the reduction, the price of petrol has decreased from Rs373 to Rs299 per litre, while diesel will now be available at Rs311 per litre, down from Rs378 per litre.

The Prime Minister stated that the government had taken this important step to protect citizens from rising inflation and ease economic pressure on households. He added that it is the government’s responsibility to pass on the benefits of lower international oil prices directly to the public.

The reduction in fuel prices is expected to lower transportation costs, which could have a positive impact on the prices of essential commodities and services. Economic experts have welcomed the move, describing it as a major relief for consumers and suggesting that it could contribute to a decline in the overall inflation rate.

The government expressed hope that the decision would provide immediate financial relief to millions of people and support broader economic stability.
