Trump Says U.S. Forces Will Remain in Gulf, Signals Possible Sanctions Relief for Iran

Washington:** U.S. President Donald Trump has said that American military forces will remain in the Gulf region for some time, while emphasizing that the 60-day period outlined for a final agreement with Iran should not be viewed as a rigid deadline.

In a statement, Trump said that Iran could gain access to a $300 billion fund if it continues to demonstrate positive behavior and cooperation. He added that a significant amount of Iranian assets remains frozen and could be returned at an appropriate time.

The U.S. president noted that progress on sanctions relief could be achieved if Tehran maintains a constructive approach in its dealings with Washington.

Trump further stated that Iran has agreed that it will neither develop nor acquire a nuclear weapon. He also revealed that technical discussions regarding Iran’s nuclear stockpiles are expected to begin soon.

According to Trump, Israeli leaders are satisfied with the agreement and view it as a positive development for regional stability.

The president also praised Pakistan and Qatar for their roles in facilitating negotiations, saying both countries had made significant contributions to advancing dialogue between the United States and Iran.

The remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions, addressing nuclear concerns, and improving relations between Washington and Tehran.
