Severe Drinking Water Crisis Persists in Pir Koh, Over 40,000 Residents Affected

Hamidabad (Kudrat Daily) — A severe shortage of clean drinking water continues in Pir Koh, an area of Dera Bugti district, leaving nearly 40,000 residents without access to a basic necessity.

According to local residents, the water crisis has persisted for a long time, yet no effective or serious measures have been taken to resolve the issue. Public circles say the situation raises serious questions about the performance of the relevant authorities, the Balochistan government, the district chairman of Dera Bugti, and other responsible institutions.

Residents argue that if such a large population cannot be provided with safe drinking water, one of the most fundamental public services, it is difficult for people to maintain confidence in their elected representatives.

Locals further stated that public representatives are often visible through statements, news appearances, and social media activity, but little practical progress has been seen toward a permanent solution to Pir Koh’s longstanding water shortage.

The affected residents have urged the government and concerned departments to take immediate notice of the crisis and implement emergency measures to ensure the supply of clean drinking water. They stressed that the people of Pir Koh are now looking for concrete action and lasting solutions rather than promises.
