Punjab Anti-Narcotics Force Raids Relative of Provincial Minister, Reports Altercation at Scene
LAHORE: The Punjab Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a raid at a residence belonging to a relative of Punjab Minister for Social Welfare, Sohail Shaukat Butt, in Lahore’s Batapur area.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the raid was carried out in Bhaseen Village as part of an anti-narcotics operation. The spokesperson stated that the targeted residence belonged to the minister’s maternal uncle.
During the operation, Sohail Shaukat Butt reportedly arrived at the scene and became involved in a heated exchange with ANF personnel. The spokesperson alleged that the minister engaged in a verbal confrontation and physical altercation with officials present during the raid.
According to the ANF, the minister repeatedly questioned the officers over their decision to enter what he described as his sister’s home.
The spokesperson further said that attempts were made to contact Sohail Shaukat Butt for his version of events, but his mobile phone was switched off.
