Balochistan Budget for FY 2026-27 Being Prepared, Summary Sent to Chief Minister

Quetta – The Balochistan Finance Department has sent an initial summary to Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti regarding preparations for the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27.

According to official sources, the budget is likely to be presented in a special session of the Balochistan Assembly on either June 14 or June 19. However, media reports suggest that the Provincial Finance Minister may present the budget on June 19, while the final date will be announced after cabinet approval.

The budget preparation process is currently in its final stages, with a detailed review underway regarding the allocation of financial resources based on the requirements of various government departments.

Sources indicate that the total size of the upcoming budget is proposed to be around Rs 1,200 billion, with separate allocations for development and non-development expenditures.

Budget documents are being finalized, and proposals for funding key sectors including health, education, infrastructure, and other essential public services are under consideration.

Meanwhile, public and business circles are closely observing the budget, expecting it to include effective measures for provincial development, job creation, and welfare-oriented initiatives aimed at addressing regional underdevelopment.
