RDMC and Islamic Relief Pakistan Complete Distribution of Ramadan Food Packs in Nokkundi Villages

Nokkundi: Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) has successfully completed the distribution of Ramadan food packs to deserving families in villages surrounding the Reko Diq project area, in collaboration with Islamic Relief Pakistan.

The campaign, which formally began on February 21, concluded today after reaching a total of 600 families, benefiting approximately 5,518 individuals. Beneficiaries were selected through a transparent and needs-based assessment process, with priority given to widows, elderly individuals, persons with disabilities, and economically vulnerable households.

Food packs were distributed across 19 villages in Tehsil Nokkundi, including Humai, Nokchah, Mashki Chah, Tazgi, Durbin Chah, Bedok, Kachao, Kirtaka, Lashkar Ab, Tang Kachao, Sarzai, Maskan, Hamil Aap, Wadian, Raje, Brahok, Isa Tahir, Paniyam, and Gwal Ishtap.

Prior to the launch of the distribution drive, a coordination meeting was held between Islamic Relief Pakistan’s Country Director, Asif Ali Shirazi, and RDMC’s General Manager, Ryan Mitchell. The meeting reviewed implementation plans and explored opportunities for future collaboration.

Ryan Mitchell stated that the company’s community investment programs and local employment initiatives aim to create meaningful and lasting impacts in the areas where it operates. He emphasized that RDMC considers itself an integral part of the local community. “This initiative reflects the true spirit of Ramadan—compassion, generosity, and support for those in need,” he said, while appreciating Islamic Relief Pakistan’s partnership in promoting community welfare and responsible corporate collaboration.

Asif Ali Shirazi highlighted the objectives of the campaign, stating that it was designed to reduce food insecurity during the holy month of Ramadan and to enable deserving families to observe their fasts with dignity and peace of mind. He acknowledged RDMC’s continued cooperation and effective partnership in implementing the initiative.

The campaign aligns with RDMC’s broader goal of building long-term, trust-based partnerships with stakeholders, grounded in respect, transparency, and mutual benefit. The company’s community development programs are structured around five sustainable development pillars: education, access to healthcare, water and environment, food security, and local economic development.
