Activation of M&E Section in P&D Department to Enhance Transparency and Efficiency in Development Projects: Balochistan Chief Secretary

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily):** Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan has said that activating the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Section in the Planning and Development (P&D) Department will significantly improve transparency and efficiency in the monitoring of development projects across the province.

He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting of the Secretaries Committee, where key issues were discussed, including monitoring and evaluation of development schemes, timely completion of ongoing and new projects, transparent recruitment against vacant posts, auction of old government vehicles, and promotion of a cashless economy.

The Chief Secretary directed that transparent appointments must be ensured for all vacant positions. The meeting was informed that advertisements have been issued for more than 16,000 vacant posts from Grade 1 to 15 and over 4,000 posts from Grade 16 and above across various departments.

He emphasized shifting all government financial transactions to digital platforms to promote a cashless economy, stating that this would ensure greater financial transparency. He added that these measures are an important step toward strengthening good governance and improving public service delivery in Balochistan.

The Chief Secretary also stressed the importance of ensuring employee attendance and highlighted the effective use of social media for positive projection of development projects. He noted that showcasing development initiatives on social media helps enhance transparency, build public trust, and ensure timely completion of projects by providing citizens with an accurate picture of ongoing work.

The meeting was attended by Chairman CMIT Muhammad Ali Kakar, Additional Chief Secretary Home Muhammad Hamza Shafqat, Additional Chief Secretary Development Zahid Saleem, all provincial secretaries, while divisional commissioners participated via video link.
