Sindh Police Blacklists 40,000 Vehicles Under Safe City Project in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh Police, under the Safe City project, has blacklisted 40,000 vehicles in Karachi, with enforcement action set to begin from July 1.

According to officials, the blacklisted vehicles include those that were sold but have not yet been transferred to the new owners. Vehicles with incomplete ownership records or unpaid government dues have also been included in the list.

The police stated that the final list has been completed and legal action, including fines and possible vehicle seizures, may be taken against non-compliant owners.

Under the initiative linked to the Sindh Police and the city’s surveillance upgrade project Karachi Safe City Project, authorities aim to improve vehicle tracking and law enforcement efficiency through digital monitoring systems.

Officials have urged citizens to verify their vehicle status through the police portal and update ownership records immediately if their vehicles are listed as blacklisted, in order to avoid penalties starting July 1.

The move is part of broader efforts to regularize vehicle registration data and strengthen traffic and security enforcement in the city.
