Daylight Robbery in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Caught on CCTV, Residents Demand Action

KARACHI: CCTV footage of a daylight robbery in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13-D3, Baloch Goth, has surfaced, showing armed suspects looting children and young men in a residential street.

According to the footage, the incident took place at around 6:00 pm on June 5 when three young men and a child were sitting on a motorcycle and talking in a street of Baloch Goth. During that time, three unidentified armed men arrived on two motorcycles and approached the group.

The suspects allegedly held the victims at gunpoint and robbed them of mobile phones, cash, and other valuables before fleeing the scene.

The CCTV footage reportedly shows the faces of the suspects clearly. After committing the robbery, the assailants escaped through the same route from which they had arrived.

One of the victims, identified as Umar Mian Dad, has submitted an application to the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station, seeking legal action against the unidentified suspects.

Meanwhile, local residents claimed that the same group of robbers carries out similar crimes in the area every other week, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among residents.

Following the incident, residents urged police to use the CCTV footage to identify and arrest the suspects and bring them to justice. Authorities have yet to announce any arrests in connection with the case.
