Five Most-Wanted Fugitives Extradited to Pakistan from UAE

Islamabad: In a significant breakthrough, five most-wanted fugitives were extradited to Pakistan from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of an ongoing crackdown on overseas criminals.
According to the spokesperson of the Counter Crime Directorate (CCD), the arrests were made during a successful special operation by the CCD’s Special Operations Cell targeting fugitives who had fled abroad to avoid prosecution.
The arrested individuals were wanted in connection with serious criminal offenses including murder and financial fraud. Among those extradited is Muhammad Jameel, who was wanted by Sialkot police for a murder case, and Gul Baz Khan, wanted by Narowal police for a similar offense.
Additionally, Muhammad Ilyas, sought by Faisalabad police in a murder case, was also brought back. Two others — Naveed Dar, wanted by Lahore police for financial fraud, and Shehzaam Khurshid, wanted by Faisalabad police for financial fraud — were also arrested in the UAE and extradited to Pakistan.
The CCD team has transported the fugitives back to Pakistan and is expected to land in Lahore today.
The spokesperson emphasized that fugitives committing crimes in Pakistan and seeking refuge abroad will not be spared. “No one is above the law. Those who escape the country after committing crimes will be pursued relentlessly and brought back to face justice,” the official said.
The operation is part of Pakistan’s broader initiative to crack down on transnational criminal activity and ensure that those evading justice are held accountable, regardless of their location.
