Islamabad Police to Deploy Over 1,500 Personnel to Azad Kashmir Ahead of Planned Protest

Islamabad: Security has been placed on high alert in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) following a protest call by the Joint Awami Action Committee, with authorities deciding to deploy a large contingent of Islamabad Police personnel to the region.
According to official sources, a force comprising 1,505 Islamabad Police officers and personnel will be sent to Azad Kashmir to assist in maintaining law and order during the expected demonstrations.
The deployment has been approved by the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police and will include senior officers such as one Deputy Inspector General (DIG), two Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and four Superintendents of Police (SPs).
The contingent will also consist of eight ASPs/DSPs, 16 inspectors, 22 sub-inspectors, 70 assistant sub-inspectors, and 1,382 constables.
Authorities have issued a special security plan aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing any disruption during the protest period. The police force will be equipped with full anti-riot gear before being deployed to the region.
The IG Islamabad has also issued special directives regarding the movement of personnel, transportation arrangements, and logistical support to facilitate the operation.
Officials said the deployment is a precautionary measure intended to maintain peace and security in view of the planned protest activities in Azad Kashmir.
