Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Political Situation: PM Shahbaz Holds Key Meetings Amid Government Change Rumors

Amid rumors about the possible dismissal of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held important meetings with KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Awami National Party (ANP) chief Senator Aimal Wali Khan.
On Wednesday, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi briefed the Prime Minister about the recent incident in the Swat River. Federal ministers Ameer Maqam, Rana Mashhood Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, and Abdul Rehman Kanju were also present. The Prime Minister instructed relevant agencies to enhance their capabilities to prevent such incidents in the future. The overall national situation was also discussed.
After the meeting, Governor Kundi stated that if the opposition gains even one more member, it is their constitutional right to change the KP government, and there is no conspiracy involved. He also mentioned that following the restoration of reserved seats, he discussed the new political scenario with the Prime Minister. Regarding the allegations against Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, he remarked that the conspiracy attempts are coming from within Gandapur’s own circle.
In another meeting, PM Shahbaz Sharif met with ANP President Aimal Wali Khan to discuss the overall political and national situation. Federal ministers, the Minister of State for Power Division, the PM’s political affairs advisor, and a special assistant for political affairs attended this meeting.
Earlier on Wednesday, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur asserted that no matter how much pressure is applied, the government cannot be removed through unconstitutional means, challenging institutions and the state, and vowing to quit politics if ousted unlawfully.
Later, PM’s advisor Rana Sanaullah clarified that no one has discussed removing the KP government with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and no motion of no-confidence against the PTI provincial government is under consideration.
