Electricity Prices Increased Across Pakistan, Including Karachi

Islamabad (Kudrat News) — Electricity has been made more expensive across Pakistan, including Karachi, with consumers set to pay an additional Rs1.19 per unit under the monthly fuel price adjustment mechanism.
According to a notification issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the increase has been approved on account of the Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) for April 2026.
The notification stated that the monthly adjustment will also apply to consumers of K-Electric. The additional charges will be reflected in electricity bills issued during the current month of June.
Earlier, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs1.73 per unit under the April fuel cost adjustment. However, NEPRA approved a lower increase of Rs1.19 per unit.
The revised tariff will be charged to eligible consumers in their upcoming electricity bills, adding to electricity costs for households and businesses across the country.
