Quetta: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan organized an awareness lecture at Government Boys Sandeman High School Quetta on the topic “NAB’s working mechanism and the role of students in eliminating corruption” as part of its ongoing anti-corruption awareness campaign.

The aim of the lecture was to educate students about the harmful effects of corruption and promote collective efforts to build a corruption-free society.

A delegation of NAB Balochistan officials, led by Deputy Director Khurram Shahzad, interacted with students and faculty members and discussed NAB’s vision, mission, and the important role of students in eradicating corruption.

Director Schools Abdullah Achakzai and Principal of Government Sandeman High School Quetta Tariq Daniel were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the students, the deputy director emphasized that young people must play a key role in bringing positive change in society. He urged students to base their lives on integrity and accountability and to develop a strong dislike for corruption as part of their character.

Referring to Islamic teachings, he said that self-accountability and honesty are fundamental principles of Islam and that corruption in any form cannot be tolerated. He described nepotism, bribery, favoritism, recommendations, coercion, and bias as different forms of corruption and expressed concern that such practices have become common in society.

He further stressed the need for students to raise awareness against corruption so that values such as honesty, integrity, and accountability can be promoted more effectively. He said students, as important members of society, can play a vital role in laying the foundation of a corruption-free nation through collective efforts.

He added that NAB Balochistan, in line with the vision and mission of the Director General NAB Balochistan, is actively working to eliminate corruption from society.

During the event, Principal Tariq Daniel appreciated NAB’s efforts and assured full cooperation in future anti-corruption awareness campaigns. At the end of the session, NAB officials presented a commemorative shield to the principal.
