Encouraging Breakthrough in Cancer Injection Shows Promising Results in Clinical Trial

Islamabad (Khabar Desk) — A recent clinical trial has revealed encouraging results from a new cancer injection that may offer hope to patients with advanced stages of the disease where treatment options are extremely limited.
The drug, named Immunotemab, is a triple-action injection that is already available for some patients. It works by blocking proteins and enzymes that help tumors evade the immune system, while also activating white blood cells to more effectively target and destroy cancer cells.
The study was conducted on 102 patients suffering from incurable head and neck cancer. Results showed that tumors shrank in 42% of the patients after receiving the treatment.
Most notably, in 15 cases where all other treatments had failed, the tumors completely disappeared, marking a significant breakthrough in cancer research.
Head and neck cancers include tumors of the mouth, throat, and tongue. In the United Kingdom, it is the ninth most common type of cancer, affecting around 13,000 people each year.
Lead researcher Professor Kevin Harrington described the findings as “exceptional outcomes” in patients whose disease had become resistant to both chemotherapy and immunotherapy. He added that observing such strong responses is highly encouraging, given the limited treatment options for this group of patients.
