FIA Blocks Nearly 40,000 Travelers in 2025 to Prevent Illegal Migration, Says Official

Islamabad:The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has revealed that a total of 39,786 passengers were stopped from travelling abroad in 2025 under its immigration monitoring system.
Additional Director General Immigration, Nauman Siddiqui, shared the details during a briefing with senior journalists, stating that the passengers were offloaded based on a legal, intelligence-based, and risk-assessment system designed to curb illegal migration and human smuggling.
He explained that the offloading process, which is often criticized by the public, is actually a preventive measure aimed at protecting citizens from exploitation abroad and ensuring their safety.
According to Siddiqui, the initiative also helps safeguard Pakistan’s international reputation by preventing irregular migration and addressing human trafficking networks.
Officials said the system is continuously being refined to improve border management and enhance travel security while ensuring lawful movement of passengers.
