Murree Tourist Van Crash: Absconding Driver Arrested by Police

Islamabad (Kudrat News): Police have arrested the driver who fled after the tragic tourist van accident in Murree earlier this week.

According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, the absconding driver involved in the tourist van crash was apprehended by Motorway Police officials following a tip-off.

The spokesperson said the suspect was arrested from PIMS Hospital and subsequently handed over to Murree Police. A criminal case has also been registered against him.

Earlier this week, a tourist van met with a serious accident in Murree, resulting in the deaths of 10 tourists.

Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi had stated that the accident occurred at Khajot on the Murree Expressway.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, the van was carrying 23 passengers from Multan. The tourists had departed from Multan for Murree at around 2 a.m. The vehicle reportedly crashed into a roadside wall due to overspeeding, causing the engine to catch fire. The van’s sliding door also became locked, trapping passengers inside and contributing to the tragedy.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
