PkMAP Rejects Reports on Proposed Changes in Districts and Divisions, Strongly Condemns Move

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) — Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly rejected and condemned reports circulating on social media regarding proposed changes in the historical, geographical, and socio-administrative structure of districts and divisions in the province.

In a press release issued by the party’s central secretariat, it stated that any such move by what it called a “Form 47 imposed, unelected, failed and incompetent government” is a direct violation of historical, geographical, cultural, and social realities, and cannot be accepted under any circumstances.

The statement said that no authority has the right to unilaterally increase or alter districts and divisions in a way that distorts history. According to the party, Pashtun and Baloch nations hold equal status, and their historical homelands, social ties, and traditions must not be harmed.

It further stated that the current administrative structure of districts and divisions is based on historical arrangements dating back to the British Balochistan era, when administrative units were formed considering Pashtun-majority areas and the former State of Kalat.

PkMAP alleged that the present unelected government is attempting, through a “conspiratorial plan,” to undermine the tribal status and traditional structure of various Pashtun and Baloch tribes.

The statement concluded by urging the Chief Minister and cabinet to immediately withdraw the proposed decision and avoid such measures, warning that the people of the province, particularly Pashtuns, would not accept or allow implementation of any such “conspiratorial plan.”
