Constable Who Helped Arrest ‘Pinky’ Reportedly Granted Major Relief in Karachi Drug Cases

KARACHI: A police constable who reportedly played a key role in the arrest of alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky has allegedly been granted major relief, while his reinstatement is also expected, according to sources.
Sources said the constable had allegedly remained a facilitator for Pinky for a long period and was also accused of receiving large sums of money. Following secret reports, senior police officers reportedly took strict disciplinary action against the officer.
According to sources, the constable later appeared before a senior police official seeking forgiveness, after which he was assigned the task of helping authorities arrest Anmol alias Pinky. In return, he was allegedly offered the removal of all major punishments and disciplinary actions.
Sources further claimed that the constable completed the task within a week, and Pinky’s arrest was carried out based on information provided by the same officer.
It has also been reported that authorities have decided to revoke the constable’s major penalties and restore him to service.
