Pakistan reserves right to respond to attacks from Afghanistan, will target sources of aggression: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (Kuwait News Desk) — Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan reserves the right to respond to any attacks originating from Afghanistan and will take action against locations from where such assaults are launched.

Speaking to media outside the Parliament House, Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan would not tolerate cross-border aggression and would act against the specific hideouts used for attacks.

He alleged that the Afghan Taliban government is acting under the influence of India, claiming that directives are being issued from New Delhi. He further said that the Taliban would not support any position without India’s approval.

Referring to diplomatic engagement, he said Pakistan had repeatedly asked the Afghan side to provide written assurances that Afghan soil would not be used against Pakistan, but they refused to do so during multiple meetings.

He also responded to a question regarding the proposed 28th constitutional amendment, saying there is no such matter currently under discussion, adding that journalists should not repeatedly ask about something that does not exist.

The Afghan Taliban, officially known as the Afghan Taliban, have not yet issued a response to these latest remarks.
