Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Departs for Four-Day Official Visit to China

Shehbaz Sharif has departed for a four-day official visit to China aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, political engagement, and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The prime minister left for the first phase of his visit in Hangzhou along with a high-level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Atta Tarar, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, the visit will continue until May 26 and focuses on enhancing cooperation in multiple sectors, including trade, investment, and political coordination.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet the Party Secretary of Zhejiang Province in Hangzhou. Discussions on the evolving situation in the Middle East are also anticipated.

The Foreign Office stated that China has supported Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving regional tensions through dialogue and peaceful engagement.
