Woman Dies After Allegedly Being Set on Fire by Brother-in-Law in Muzaffargarh

Muzaffargarh: A newly married woman died after allegedly being set on fire by her brother-in-law in Punjab’s Muzaffargarh district, police said.
According to a police spokesperson, the incident took place in Jatoi tehsil, where the woman suffered severe burn injuries after her brother-in-law allegedly poured diesel on her and set her ablaze following a domestic dispute.
The victim was shifted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries. Police said more than 80 percent of her body had been burned.
Authorities have arrested the suspect and registered a case against three individuals in connection with the incident. According to the FIR, the woman had been married only five months ago, while her husband was employed in Sialkot at the time of the incident.
Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
