2 Killed, Several Injured After Earthquake Hits Southwest China

At least two people were killed and several others injured after an earthquake struck the Guangxi region in southwest China.

According to Chinese state media, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake was felt in Guangxi. The epicenter was located in the Liunan district of Liuzhou city at a depth of 8 kilometers underground.

Media reports said the earthquake caused 13 buildings to collapse, while damage was also reported to residential homes in the Liunan area. Authorities have so far confirmed the deaths of two people.

Chinese state media further reported that rescue and relief operations are currently underway in the affected region. One person remains missing, while at least four others have been reported injured.
