Pakistan Announces Eid ul Adha on May 27 After Zil Hajj Moon Sighted

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, has officially announced that the moon for the Islamic month of Zil Hajj has been sighted in the country. As a result, Eid ul Adha will be celebrated across Pakistan on May 27.
The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad to review moon sighting reports from different parts of the country.
Members of the central and zonal moon sighting committees, along with experts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and SUPARCO, participated in the session.
Separate meetings of zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees were also held in Islamabad and provincial capitals to collect and verify testimonies regarding the sighting of the moon.
