Fawad Chaudhry Says Sharif and Zardari Heading Towards Political End

LAHORE: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that the political influence of the Sharif and Zardari families is coming to an end, saying Pakistan may soon move beyond dynastic politics.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Fawad Chaudhry said that no sensible political party would alienate the country’s youth in the manner that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Peoples Party are allegedly doing.
He stated that Pakistan is fortunate that the Sharif and Zardari families are, in his view, heading toward “complete political downfall,” which he said would give the country an opportunity to move beyond their style of politics.
Fawad Chaudhry further alleged that the country’s establishment had been misled by the two political families for many years.

Criticizing the PML-N leadership, he said the party had appointed Safdar Awan, also known as Captain (Retd) Safdar, as campaign in-charge for Gilgit-Baltistan, which he described as evidence of poor political decision-making.
He also claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, which he described as a party representing national unity, was being suppressed through arrests and imprisonment of its leaders and workers. According to him, the result has been economic uncertainty, inflation, terrorism, and political instability in the country.
