Sanam Saeed and Roma Riaz to Represent Pakistan at Cannes Film Festival

KARACHI: Pakistani actress Sanam Saeed and model Roma Riaz are set to represent Pakistan at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, marking another notable appearance for the country on the global cinematic stage.

Sanam Saeed will make her debut at Cannes this year and has been included in the inaugural honorary group of “South Asian Women Excellence in Cinema & Arts.” The recognition highlights her contribution to the entertainment industry and South Asian representation in global cinema.

Taking to social media, the actress shared a video message expressing her excitement about attending the festival, saying she is carrying forward the legacy of legendary Pakistani actress Begum Shamim Ara at Cannes.

Meanwhile, model Roma Riaz will also represent Pakistan at the international event, further showcasing Pakistani talent on the global fashion and entertainment platform.

It is worth noting that in 2018, renowned Pakistani actress Mahira Khan became the first Pakistani actress to debut on the Cannes red carpet, paving the way for greater representation of Pakistani artists at the festival.
