5 Illegal Stone Crusher Plants Sealed, 6 Arrested in Quetta and Kuchlak Crackdown

Quetta (News Desk) — The district administration in Quetta has intensified its crackdown against illegal stone crusher plants, sealing five such units and arresting six individuals in Quetta and Kuchlak areas, officials said on Thursday.

The action was taken in line with directives of the Balochistan High Court and instructions from Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti. Authorities carried out large-scale operations in Kuchlak and various areas of Western Bypass targeting illegally operating crusher plants.

According to the district administration, these plants were causing environmental pollution, posing serious health risks, and operating in violation of government regulations. Officials said strict action is being taken under court orders.

Assistant Commissioner Kuchlak, Captain (R) Kabir Mazari, led operations in different parts of Kuchlak, where two illegal crusher plants were sealed and two individuals present on site were arrested and shifted to the concerned police station. Machinery and other equipment at the sites were also inspected.

Separately, Assistant Commissioner Sariab Musawar Ahmed Achakzai conducted operations in the Western Bypass area, sealing three more illegal crusher plants. During the crackdown, four individuals were arrested for operating without legal permission.

The district administration stated that illegal businesses, environmental violations, and disregard for court orders will not be tolerated. Officials added that such operations will continue in the future without discrimination to ensure a safe and clean environment for citizens.
