Punjab Decides to Include “Marka-e-Haq” in School Curriculum

LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has decided to include “Marka-e-Haq” and lessons on patriotism in the province’s educational curriculum.
The decision was taken during an important meeting of the Information Steering Committee chaired by Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari. The meeting was attended by Secretary Information Tahir Raza Hamdani and other senior officials.
During the meeting, participants agreed to introduce topics related to patriotism and “Marka-e-Haq” into educational syllabi across Punjab.
Officials also noted that private educational institutions had not organized “Marka-e-Haq” programs on the same scale as government institutions. As a result, directions have now been issued for private schools to arrange similar programs.
The committee further decided that films based on “Marka-e-Haq” and national unity would be produced under the provincial film fund. In addition, a drama on Shaheed Liaqat will be produced under the Alhamra Arts Council.
The meeting also approved the launch of a public awareness campaign aimed at promoting national unity. Participants requested the Director General of ISPR to continue visits to educational institutions as part of awareness efforts.
In view of the upcoming month of Muharram, authorities were instructed to intensify action against hate material and provocative content.
Azma Bukhari stated that the Information Department and Home Department would jointly establish a special monitoring cell to identify individuals spreading hateful content on social media and ensure the timely delivery of accurate information to the public.
She emphasized that no incitement or hate speech would be tolerated during Muharram, warning that strict action would be taken against anyone involved in spreading unrest or sectarian hatred.
