U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Hopes Direct Flights Between Pakistan and the United States Will Resume
Islamabad: U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker has expressed hope that direct flights between Pakistan and the United States will be launched, saying they would further strengthen ties and people-to-people connections between the two countries.
Speaking in Islamabad, Baker praised Pakistan’s role in regional diplomacy, stating that the country had played a historic and exemplary role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States.
She said Pakistan was uniquely positioned to undertake such efforts because of its long-standing relationships with both countries.
Baker expressed optimism that direct air links between Pakistan and the United States would become operational, adding that such flights would enhance bilateral relations, improve connectivity, and promote greater exchanges between the two nations.
The U.S. diplomat also remarked that she feels pleased when people mistake her for a Pakistani, reflecting her affinity for the country.
She further revealed that she plans to visit Pakistan’s northern regions later this year to explore the country’s scenic landscapes.
