Driverless Robot Taxi Introduced at Quba Mosque to Facilitate Pilgrims

MADINAH: Saudi authorities have introduced a modern autonomous taxi service, called “RoboBus,” at Quba Mosque to facilitate pilgrims and worshippers visiting the historic site.
According to officials, the initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s strategic program aimed at providing modern, safe, and environmentally friendly transportation services. The project also supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals focused on digital transformation and sustainable transport solutions.
The RoboBus operates using advanced artificial intelligence technology and is equipped with sophisticated sensors and high-resolution cameras to ensure the safety of passengers, pedestrians, and worshippers around the vehicle.

Authorities said the autonomous vehicle will travel along a designated 700-meter route near Quba Mosque without the need for a human driver. The service is designed to provide visitors with a convenient, fast, and secure transportation experience.
Reports indicate that the pilot phase of the project will continue for 60 days, during which the system’s performance and safety measures will be carefully monitored and evaluated.
Experts say Saudi Arabia is making significant progress in introducing advanced technologies at religious sites to improve services for millions of visitors from around the world.
