Lahore High Court Orders Return of Rs70 Million Bail Amount to Maryam Nawaz

Lahore: The Lahore High Court has granted relief to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, directing authorities to return Rs70 million deposited as surety in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
According to details, a full bench of the Lahore High Court, headed by Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, heard the petition filed by Maryam Nawaz regarding the return of the cash surety amount submitted for bail in the case.
During the proceedings, her legal counsel argued that there was no longer any legal justification to retain the cash security in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case and requested its return.
The court was also informed by the counsel of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) that the bureau had no objection to the return of the amount. NAB also submitted a formal statement confirming that it would not oppose the request.
After hearing arguments from all parties and reviewing NAB’s statement, the court approved the petition and ordered the concerned authorities to immediately return the Rs70 million deposited as bail security.
