Dubai Opens World’s First AI-Powered Smart Bus Station

Islamabad: Dubai has inaugurated the world’s first fully artificial intelligence-powered smart bus station, marking a major advancement in urban public transportation.
The futuristic station, developed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has been established at Mall of the Emirates and features advanced digital services, eco-friendly technology, and 24-hour smart facilities.
The smart bus station is directly connected to the Dubai Metro station at Mall of the Emirates and will serve 11 bus routes linking residential, commercial, and tourist areas across Dubai.
According to officials, the project aims to make public transportation faster, safer, and more convenient, encouraging residents to prefer public transport over private vehicles.
The station is equipped with advanced AI cameras for crowd monitoring, real-time passenger counting systems inside buses, digital information screens, and smart kiosks.
Passengers can use the digital displays to check bus and metro arrival times, taxi availability, station maps, and information about nearby attractions and facilities.
The smart kiosks also feature a virtual assistant capable of helping travelers with route planning, answering queries, and providing lost-and-found services. Travelers can additionally purchase tickets digitally and recharge their Nol Card through the system.
The RTA stated that the station is powered partly by solar panels installed on-site, while smart environmental sensors continuously monitor air quality.
Officials described the initiative as part of Dubai’s broader vision to become one of the world’s most technologically advanced and environmentally sustainable cities.
