Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party has announced that it will further intensify and organize its struggle for national rights, democratic supremacy, and the rights of oppressed nations in the current climate of political uncertainty.
In a statement issued from the party’s central secretariat in Quetta, the party said that the 9th death anniversary of senior leader, prominent parliamentarian, historian, and political thinker late Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhail will be observed with great respect, reverence, and national spirit.
The party announced that a grand public gathering will be held at Liaquat Park in Quetta on this occasion, where Chairman and Member National Assembly Khushal Khan Kakar and other central and provincial leaders will address the participants.
According to the statement, tributes will be paid to the political vision, ideology, and services of the late leader, and renewed commitment will be expressed toward achieving the national goals he envisioned.
The party highlighted that Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhail played a key role in reorganizing political forces in southern Pashtun regions, particularly in the Quetta division, after the ban on the National Awami Party during the Ayub era. He also played a historic role in strengthening the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party under the leadership of Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai.
The statement added that he was a visionary leader who advocated for a united political platform for Pashtun national rights and emphasized the importance of ideological independence and democratic political struggle.
The party said that he strongly believed in unity among Pashtun democratic forces as well as a joint platform for all oppressed nations of the country to advance democracy, equality, social justice, and constitutional rights.
It further noted that he actively participated in various political alliances, including Pashtun Rehbar Committee, PONM, and MRD, playing a significant role in shaping collective democratic movements.
The statement also said that Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhail contributed significantly to the intellectual and historical foundations of the Pashtun national movement and documented the history, culture, and rights of the Pashtun nation.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to continue the struggle for national rights, democratic governance, unity, and the rights of oppressed nations in line with the political and ideological teachings of the late leader, urging workers, students, intellectuals, and civil society to participate in the commemorative gathering.
