Pakistan Navy Chief Warns Middle East Tensions Threaten Regional Maritime Security

Inter-Services Public Relations said that Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf chaired the Pakistan Navy’s Command and Staff Conference in Islamabad, where senior officials reviewed operational preparedness and future naval strategies.

During the conference, Admiral Naveed Ashraf described the ongoing tensions in the Middle East as a major challenge to regional maritime security. He said the Pakistan Navy is assuring protection to the maritime community in the Gulf of Oman amid the evolving security environment.

According to ISPR, the naval chief emphasized the importance of acquiring modern weapons and advanced technologies to effectively address maritime security challenges. He stressed that maintaining strong operational readiness is essential to safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime interests and countering both traditional and non-traditional threats.

The conference also paid tribute to the sacrifices made during “Marka-e-Haq,” while participants were briefed on ongoing and future Pakistan Navy projects. Admiral Naveed Ashraf expressed satisfaction over the Navy’s operational preparedness for defending the country’s maritime borders.
