Electricity Consumers Across Pakistan May Receive Rs63.94 Billion Relief

Islamabad: Electricity consumers across Pakistan, including those of K-Electric, may receive a relief of Rs63.94 billion, according to official reports.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) stated that distribution companies (DISCOs) have submitted a request for the first quarterly adjustment of the calendar year 2026.
NEPRA will conduct a hearing on this request on May 19, after which a final decision regarding consumer relief will be made.
According to the application, a reduction of Rs36.83 billion has been requested under capacity charges for the January to March period. Additionally, a decrease of Rs11.24 billion has been sought under system usage charges and market operation fees.
The DISCOs have further requested a reduction of Rs23.51 billion under incremental units.
The final decision on providing relief to electricity consumers will be made after NEPRA’s review and approval.
