KP Government Announces Pen-Down Strike on May 6 Over ‘Discriminatory Treatment’

Peshawar: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a province-wide pen-down strike on May 6, citing what it calls discriminatory treatment by the federal government.
In a statement, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said the province is facing deliberate discrimination in key areas such as the NFC Award, electricity, and gas supply.
He also raised concerns over the treatment of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, alleging that they are being denied access to personal doctors and are not being allowed meetings with family members and legal counsel, calling the situation “inhumane.”
The chief minister urged lawyers to join the strike, which is expected to halt official work across the province as part of a protest against federal policies.
