Hot and Dry Weather to Persist in Karachi and Most Parts of Pakistan; Rain Expected in Northern Areas

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast continued hot and dry weather in Karachi and most parts of Pakistan today.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi is expected to experience hot and dry conditions over the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature last night was recorded at 26.5°C, while the maximum is likely to range between 37°C and 39°C. The department noted that sea breezes in the city are currently inactive, with humidity levels around 48 percent.

In contrast, rain is expected at some locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

On Monday, extreme temperatures were recorded across several cities. The highest temperature of 45°C was reported in Turbat and Mithi. Karachi, Sibi, Lasbela, and Thatta saw temperatures reaching 44°C, while Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur recorded 40°C. Lahore recorded 37°C, Islamabad and Quetta 34°C, and Peshawar 33°C.

Meanwhile, rainfall and hailstorms were reported in several parts of Punjab, including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Pakpattan, Faisalabad, Gujrat, and Vehari.

In northern regions, rain and snowfall continued intermittently in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir, where lightning strikes reportedly caused the deaths of five people. Snowfall also continued at Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat, and Batogah Top.
