Pakistan, Iran Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Tensions and Peace Efforts in Phone Call

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a detailed telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, focusing on regional developments, ongoing tensions, and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability.
According to a statement issued by Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi, the two foreign ministers discussed the overall regional situation and Pakistan’s ongoing initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and encouraging dialogue between relevant parties.
The spokesperson said Ishaq Dar briefed the Iranian foreign minister on Pakistan’s diplomatic engagements to de-escalate tensions and promote constructive dialogue. Abbas Araghchi, in response, appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and sincere mediation efforts in the region.
During the call, Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s position that sustainable solutions to conflicts can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy. He added that Pakistan remains committed to fostering lasting peace, stability, and mutual respect in the region.
Both sides also agreed to continue joint efforts for regional peace and strengthen diplomatic coordination between the two countries.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam also praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts in talks with the United States, stating that no decision had been taken to change Pakistan’s role as a facilitator in the ongoing diplomatic process.
