Singapore Tops Global Passport Ranking, Pakistan Among Weakest

Henley Passport Index has released its latest global passport rankings, placing Singapore at the top as the world’s most powerful passport. Singaporean citizens can travel visa-free to 192 destinations, the highest level of global access.

In second place, Japan, South Korea, and United Arab Emirates share the position, each offering visa-free access to 187 countries. Norway and Switzerland follow with access to 185 destinations.

The report highlights that European countries continue to dominate passport strength globally, with the European Union averaging visa-free access to 183 destinations—on par with Malaysia and the United Kingdom.

On the other end of the spectrum, Afghanistan ranks as the weakest passport, allowing visa-free travel to just 23 countries. It is followed by Syria and Iraq. Pakistan stands fourth among the weakest passports in the ranking.

The report notes that factors such as political instability, conflict, and rising migration trends contribute significantly to weaker passport rankings.
